What does AAM mean in UNCLASSIFIED

America Abroad Media (AAM) is a non-profit organization dedicated to facilitating cross-cultural dialogue and understanding through the power of media. We develop and curate documentary films, radio programs, and other media content that explore key human rights and social issues from around the world.

AAM provides resources and expertise through funding opportunities, specialized digital distribution channels, and creative production tools to help bring these important stories to light. Additionally, we work with partner organizations on the ground in countries where we have a presence to develop long-term strategies for positive impact.

At AAM, we focus on telling stories about various global topics including sustainable development, civil society issues, women’s rights, health care access, freedom of expression, human trafficking and more. We are committed to amplifying voices of those who are marginalized or face discrimination by providing them a platform to share their experiences.

AAM curates films on a wide range of topics such as environmental protection, education reform, economic development in the developing world, poverty alleviation strategies and more. We strive to showcase documentaries that have both cinematic value as well as compelling storylines that will move viewers emotionally and intellectually.

Yes! In order to ensure that all projects are seen fairly by our programming team we use an online submission system called FilmFreeWay where you can submit any documentary films you have created that might be relevant to our mission. It’s easy – all you need is your film’s credits and synopsis along with a trailer or screener link.

You don't need to be a filmmaker in order to get involved! There are many ways you can support us - you can volunteer your time at one of our events or campaigns; you can donate money; or spread the word about our work via social media platforms like Twitter or Facebook. Any contribution helps!

As part of the international public broadcasting community – which includes networks such as BBC World Service – America Abroad Media develops audience engagement strategies based on targeted marketing across multiple platforms. This allows us to reach different audiences around the world more efficiently than traditional broadcast models allow.

Absolutely – most of our completed projects can be viewed through our YouTube Channel as well as on demand streaming services like Amazon Prime Video or Vimeo On Demand. Additionally select documentaries are broadcasted over affiliated television networks worldwide.
