Bala Gangadharanatha Swami, also known as BG Swami, was a renowned Vedanta philosopher and scholar from India who wrote several books on Advaita Vedanta. He was one of the most influential contemporary teachers of Vedanta and believed in the importance of non-dualistic thinking in spiritual liberation. He was also a spiritual guide to many who were searching for knowledge and guidance.

Bala Gangadharanatha Swami was born in South India in 1891 and went on to pursue his education at the Banaras Hindu University (BHU). His facility with language enabled him to read, write, and refer to various texts. He studied under some of the greatest scholars of his time, including Sringeri Jagadguru Sri Chandrasekhara Bharati Mahaswamigal and Madhavacharya.

Bala Gangadharanatha Swami wrote several books on Advaita Vedanta philosophy including ‘The Secret of Eternal Bliss’, ‘Advaita Reality’, ‘The Three Stages of Life’, ‘The Nature of God’ as well as many others. He also wrote commentaries on the works of Shankara such as the Bhagavad Gita, Brahma Sutras and Upanishads.

The essence behind all that BGSwami taught is rooted in Advaita Vedanta - a school of thought focused upon non-dualistic understanding which emphasizes the interconnectedness between human beings and our ultimate reality or self-realization. His teachings center around compassion for all living things as well as dedication to one's own inner growth and development through self-inquiry.
