What Does TSO Mean?

TSO stands for Trichuris Suis Ova which is also known as “pig whipworm eggs.” These eggs are produced from pigs infected with the whipworm parasite, Trichuris suis, also known as Trichuriasis. The eggs are collected when the pigs defecate and they are typically administered orally to humans as part of a therapeutic regime known as helminthic therapy or “friendly worms” therapy. This type of treatment is becoming increasingly popular due to its potential for treating allergies, autoimmune diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), and chronic inflammatory disorders such as Crohn's disease.

How Is TSO Used?
