What does RHS mean in MATHEMATICS

What It Is

As its name suggests, RHS is a hollow section of steel which takes on a rectangular or square shape. It has two flat surfaces on either side with an empty space in between. This ‘hollow’ can be filled with insulation to enhance thermal efficiency or grout when constructing something like a wall frame or railings. The steel itself is usually cold rolled and comes in various thicknesses ranging from 1mm up to 10mm depending on the application.

Benefits of Using RHS

There are many benefits associated with using RHS sections over solid steel alternatives such as increased strength, reduced weight, flexibility, cost savings due to fewer materials needed and easier assembly due to its symmetrical shape making it faster and simpler than other types of profiles.
