What does AATP mean in UNCLASSIFIED

Americans Against The Tea Party (AATP) is a political action committee made up of former and current Tea Party members who oppose the Tea party's far-right, anti-immigrant, and anti-government ideologies.

AATP was founded in 2010 by two former Republican strategists whose goal was to counteract the Tea Party's growing influence on U.S. politics.

AATP engages in various forms of electoral activity including registering voters, fundraising for Democratic candidates and causes, organizing large public events to raise awareness about key issues, and participating in public policy debates at both state and local levels.

The primary source of funding for AATP are individual donations from like-minded individuals or groups who support their goals. They also receive some funding from foundations that support progressive initiatives across the country.

AATP continues to expand its membership base through active recruitment and grassroots organizing efforts targeted at those with similar ideological beliefs as well as those who may have been disenfranchised by or have become disillusioned with the modern day Tea Party movement.
