What does INB mean in BIOLOGY

The National Institute of Bioinformatics provides professional training and certification in bioinformatics, research, development and consulting services in the field of bioinformatics. We also offer grants and collaborations that support research projects related to bioinformatics.

The main goal of INB is to promote, develop, coordinate and facilitate the advancing applications of bioinformatics at a national level. We are committed to providing quality education, research and innovation in this field.

To become a certified bioinformatician, one must have a degree in the biological sciences or related field, possess a strong working knowledge of computational systems and programming languages related to bioinformatics, as well as successfully pass an exam administered by INB.

Yes! INB offers online courses for both beginner and advanced students in areas such as Big Data Analytics for Biomedical Research, Population Genetics Analysis, Metagenomics & Metatranscriptomics Analysis and Applied Molecular Biology.

Generally speaking, no prior experience is required to enroll in most courses at INB. However some courses may require basic knowledge of mathematics or computer programming depending on their content.

The length of our courses can range from one day to three months depending on the subject matter. In general our short workshops last two or three days while our longer seminars can span up to several weeks or months. Please refer to individual course listings for more information.

Yes! Students who enroll in multiple classes receive special discounted rates when registering for multiple sessions within a given semester cycle or yearlong academic program atINB. Please contact us directly for more information about our special student discount programs.

Depending on your course selection you may need access to certain software programs and/or hardware components such as servers or computers with high-performance graphical processing units (GPUs). Make sure you read course descriptions carefully before enrolling so you are aware of any specialized requirements that may be necessary for successful completion.

At present time we are offering partial-tuition scholarship awards through our partnership with select universities across Spain including University College London (UCL)and Pompeu Fabra University (UPF).
