What does AMEA mean in EMPLOYMENT

AMEA provides collective bargaining services to its members, such as negotiating wage and benefit packages, working with management on policies affecting employee rights and benefits, and helping to resolve labor disputes between members and their employers. Additionally, AMEA provides its members with resources such as professional development opportunities, workshops, newsletters, legal advice, representation in grievance procedures, etc.

Anyone employed by the Municipality of Anchorage is eligible for membership in AMEA regardless of whether or not they are in a represented bargaining unit.
