What does FTO mean in MANUFACTURING

A Flat Twist Out (FTO) is a hairstyle created with two-strand twists that can transform tight curls or coils into looser, more voluminous waves.

To create an FTO, begin by separating your hair into sections and applying moisturizer to each section. Next, create two-strand flat twists in each section. Finally, spray some water on the twists before unfurling them. Once released, the two-strand twists will expand and become wavy.

Anyone with curly hair can create an FTO; however, it's especially favored among Black women because their natural texture responds well to this style. The tight coils can be easily transformed into larger, more voluminous curls.

You'll want to use some sort of moisturizer when creating an FTO to ensure that your hair is hydrated before you twist it up. Additionally, you may opt to use a setting mousse or gel after releasing the twists in order to help define the waves and control frizziness.

Generally speaking, an FTO will stay put for 2-3 days if properly cared for and maintained with light styling products such as oils, creams and serums throughout the day. However, if you apply too much product or don't keep your strands hydrated it could begin to unravel sooner than expected.
