What does DCC mean in UNIVERSITIES

The Department Chair Council (DCC) is a group of faculty members who serve as elected representatives for academic and research departments at a particular institution. The DCC's main purpose is to promote collaboration among chairs, faculty members, administrators, and other stakeholders in order to facilitate efficient operations within the academic and research departments.

The DCC reviews and makes recommendations about policies related to personnel matters such as hiring practices, promotion procedures, allocation of resources among departments, curricular activities, assessment processes, best practice models for instructional initiatives and course design, teaching evaluation methods, research-related initiatives as well as student advising initiatives.
