What does ADE mean in EDUCATIONAL

An Apple Distinguished Educator is an accomplishment recognition for educators who have demonstrated success as an educator using Apple technology and have made groundbreaking contributions to the community in terms of teaching, learning and technology.

In order to become an ADE, candidates must submit an application which includes samples of work, recommendations from colleagues or mentors, evidence of their collaboration with other educators, and accomplishments they've achieved while utilizing Apple products. After this application is reviewed by the team at Apple Education Leadership & Innovation (ELI), certain individuals who show excellent qualifications are invited to join the program.

As a part of the program, members receive exclusive access to resources from the ELI team including advanced training opportunities such as lab sessions and certification programs. Additionally, members will gain access to special events such as WWDC or Celebration weekends hosted by ELI.

Members must commit to attending biannual Retreats held exclusively for ADEs and fill out continuing evaluation forms every year in order to remain active members of the program.

Yes! Members may be eligible for reimbursement on expenses such as travel costs incurred while attending events hosted by ELI depending on availability. Additionally, they may also be eligible for complimentary access codes provided through organizations supporting educators using industry tools such as Swift Playgrounds or Dreamweaver courses.
