What does CMA mean in CYBER & SECURITY

A Control and Monitoring Agent (CMA) is an agent-based software component used for monitoring the performance, health, and availability of IT systems. It is an autonomous, proactive tool that can detect potential system issues and events in real time. The CMA works by continuously collecting relevant data from local or remote devices such as servers, desktops, switches or mobile devices. It then analyzes this data and sends alerts to the appropriate personnel when potential problems are detected.

Most commercial CMAs come with an integrated reporting functionality that can generate reports either regularly on demand based on user defined criteria including performance metrics collected over time or event logs generated by monitored systems.
