What does CFNS mean in SOCIETIES

CFNS stands for Calgary Field Naturalists Society, which is a local organization that provides educational resources to promote the understanding and appreciation of nature.

The primary goal of CFNS is to encourage active participation in natural history activities and research by supporting members' interests, providing an information exchange and social network, and helping their members to engage with the natural world around them.

To join CFNS one must first complete a membership form available on their website. Once submitted, a membership fee will be required for acceptance into the organization.

CFNS offers several different kinds of activities within its organization including field trips, conservation projects, lectures, workshops, presentations, identification clinics among other things.

CFNS provides numerous programs such as initiatives for young people like Nature Kids Clubs; and research opportunities through funding grants or field trips led by professionals. Additionally they provide online classes based on local flora & fauna species developed in partnership with Universities or other organizations.
