What We Do

The goal of the CFA is to make sure that conservation remains an essential part of our global economy by immensely improving access to investment capital and know-how. We work closely with existing organizations and networks in support of their programs while also recognizing the leadership role they have in driving progress towards environmental sustainability. Our mission is to provide access to funding that can spark projects, strengthen existing efforts and catalyze new ones while aiming at long-term solvency. This can be done through increasing investments in public-private partnerships, paying attention to capacity building initiatives, supporting innovation as well as creating market opportunities for nature-oriented investments.

We are passionate about offering a platform from which we are able to create value propositions for both private sector stakeholders as well as traditional donors and other international finance sources. In doing so we provide access to sources that help transform environmentally destructive activities into financially viable alternatives related to conservation efforts around the world. This includes allocating resources for ecosystem protection through carbon trading or providing customized financial instruments for individual projects or those located in certain countries or regions.

Our Approach

The CFA works through an integrated approach — one that encourages collaboration between different partners with diverse backgrounds while enabling them to pool their knowledge and expertise together towards a common goal. We strive to bridge gaps between sectors by connecting traditional financiers with non-traditional actors such as local communities or environmental activists who have been historically excluded from decision making processes within the finance community. We believe this will ultimately lead us towards a more holistic view of earth stewardship where everyone is able to understand how natural resource management ultimately affects people's livelihoods, especially those living in poverty stricken remote regions where most of our planet's last remaining ecosystems are located.
