What does PTC mean in THEATER

Philadelphia Theatre Company puts on a variety of contemporary plays from both established and emerging playwrights. We also produce musicals, special event engagements, and often partner with other theatre companies to co-produce more expansive works.

Many of our shows may include adult language or themes, while others are appropriate for students of all ages – it depends on the production. Please contact our box office directly for more information about individual shows in order to make the best decision for your family!

Late seating is NOT permitted so we recommend arriving 15 minutes before curtain time in order to get settled before the performance begins! To ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment we will not permit late seating until a break in the action occurs – usually during intermission.

There is plenty of street parking as well as several garages in close proximity to our theatre including SSC Garage on Sansom Street and Brandywine Realty’s 1616 Walnut Street Garage. In addition, SEPTA’s Broad Street Subway line has stops within walking distance from our venue at Walnut-Locust Station (Broad & Locust) and South Street Station (Broad & South).

Absolutely! We provide assisted listening devices at no cost which can be requested through any house manager prior to the performance starting as well as accessible seating capabilities upon request for patrons with disabilities who require special accommodations in order to enjoy performances here at PTC. We encourage patrons to enjoy refreshments both before AND after their performance, but generally discourage bringing outside food into our venue during the show itself out of respect for other guests around you who may be enjoying the live production being performed onstage! Nonalcoholic beverages and snacks purchased from our concession stand are always permitted however - just make sure they're secured until intermission!

Yes – student rush tickets are available in person only one hour prior to curtain time pending ticket availability with a valid student ID card discounted at 50% off regular ticket prices! Make sure you get here early though – these discounted tickets tend to sell out quickly due to their popularity among patrons looking for a great bargain!
