What does CCSC mean in CLUBS

The Central California Soaring Club (CCSC) is a community based organization dedicated to increasing public awareness of motorless flight. Through our various activities, including soaring instruction, flying competitions, and public manning programs, CCSC provides opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to learn about the natural beauty and sport of motorless flight.

CCSC offers a variety of soaring activities, including instructional flights and competitions in which pilots can test their skills. We also conduct public manning events which allow the general public to experience the thrill of soaring without having to pilot an aircraft.

There is no set age limit for joining the Central California Soaring Club. In many cases, we accept members who are at least 16 years old or have completed high school. We do recommend that those with young children always consult with a professional instructor before deciding if it is safe for them to fly.

Yes! Our experienced instructors provide quality flight instruction so that you can safely take off, navigate your aircraft and land safely according to all FAA regulations and guidelines. We also offer ground school classes as part of our instruction program.

Before you can take a lesson with one of our instructors, you will need to bring two valid forms of identification (a driver's license and another form such as a passport), any applicable medical forms that may be required by your physician (such as asthma medications), and appropriate clothing suitable for weather conditions (no loose-fitting items such as scarves or jewelry). It is also important to bring water and snacks for energy during long flights. Our instructors will provide you with all necessary safety equipment before takeoff.

Mental preparation is just as important as physical preparation when it comes to soaring in aircrafts —especially within unfamiliar airspace! Prior to your instructional flight, we suggest conducting research on different weather patterns, winds aloft, visibility conditions, etc., so that you can familiarize yourself with the area beforehand. Additionally, we also offer pre-flight mental preparation courses designed by experts in motorless-flight safety which cover all necessary topics to ensure your comfort and readiness prior to takeoff.

Yes! We have several clubs affiliated with us including the South Valley Soaring Association (SVSA), Orange County Soaring Association (OCSA) and San Diego Gliding Society (SDGS). Each club has its own rules/regulations pertaining solely to their region or state realm regarding membership & requirements/requests issued from members in order for them join these clubs.

Joining one club does not necessarily guarantee automatic entry into other clubs within the organization like SVSA or OCSA - they must still follow each respective club's protocol before enrollment is accepted into their domain. Yes! You are able to host events at your local flying field if you are part of our organization — however this must be approved by us first via written request sent via email / phone number provided on website along with following event policies outlined therein.

Yes! Members who attend five consecutive monthly meetings are eligible for discounted rates when signing up for additional services offered by us such as instructional lessons & competition fees etc.; furthermore members are rewarded through various loyalty programs where points gathered may be redeemed toward future services offered here at Central California Soaring Club.
