What does PCH mean in HEALTHCARE

Partnership Contracts for Health (PCH) is an innovative, collaborative approach to health care delivery developed by The World Health Organization (WHO). It brings together multiple stakeholders and partners in order to design, implement and monitor a system of preventive and curative health services.

The World Health Organization has been instrumental in the development of the PCH program. In addition, many other stakeholders such as individuals, policymakers, public and private sectors are also involved in its implementation.

The main objectives of PCH are to create efficient, equitable, sustainable and context-specific health systems that provide quality basic health care for all. Additionally it works on improving access to primary healthcare services especially those related to maternal child healthcare, communicable diseases prevention/control programs etc.

A key feature of this program is that it emphasizes joint responsibility across multiple stakeholders through establishing mutually agreed goals and performance requirements which are monitored jointly by all parties involved. Moreover it provides timely financial support for countries striving for better healthcare accessibility by forming partnerships between local governments and private sector entities.

WHO recommends that implementation should be tailored to each country's local context and that it focuses on outcomes rather than inputs or outputs as indicators when assessing success rates. Additionally WHO emphasizes on having strong government engagement with other stakeholders such as civil society organizations, communities etc so as ensure effective planning, implementation & monitoring processes at the local level.
