What does BPS mean in INDONESIAN

Badan Pendukung Sukarnoisme (BPS) is an organization established in Indonesia to promote and safeguard the philosophy and legacy of President Soekarno, Indonesia's first president. The organization is based on the ideals of Pancasila, a philosophical foundation of Indonesian politics. BPS also supports progressive policies to realize a just society based on these principles.

BPS works to promote and maintain awareness of President Soekarno's ideas through education, dissemination of information, as well as organizing social activities. BPS also advocates for progressive policy reform in line with Pancasila's principles, like economic equality and justice for underprivileged communities.

The executive board leadership consists of two co-chairs who are appointed by a majority vote from the members during its annual meetings. There are also committees that oversee coordination of various initiatives undertaken by the organization.

The organization organizes activities such as seminars, symposiums, conferences, public lectures and debates related to topics concerning socio-political policies promoted by President Soekarno's thoughts and philosophy. Additionally, BPS also organizes philanthropic efforts such as fundraising campaigns for community betterment programs.

Over the years, BPS has organized various events such as trade exhibitions featuring entrepreneurs from marginalized communities; workshops providing trainings in entrepreneurship; public forums on agrarian land reform; discussion panels debating how to address ongoing poverty issues; charitable drives providing funds for medical treatments; academic colloquia featuring renowned scholars’ research topics pertaining to presidential studies and Sukarnoist thought; etcetera!

These events began shortly after the establishment of BPS in 2008 with strong support from government institutions and regional leaders who sought to commemorate Indonesia’s first president while upholding his vision for progress through popular participation.
