What does FFA mean in ASSOCIATIONS

The Florida Association (FFA) is a statewide organization that represents the interests of agriculture educators and FFA members in Florida. It is a part of the National FFA Organization, the largest youth organization in the United States. FFA provides opportunities for students to develop their leadership, personal growth, and career skills through agricultural education.

Any student enrolled in an agricultural education course at a Florida high school or middle school is eligible to join FFA. Students do not need to have a farming background to participate.

FFA members have the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, participate in career development events, and earn scholarships. They also gain an appreciation for agriculture and its importance to the world.

To join FFA, you must be enrolled in an agricultural education course and complete a membership application. Applications are available from your agricultural education teacher.

There are three levels of FFA membership: Greenhand, Chapter, and State. Greenhand members are new to FFA and have not yet earned any degrees. Chapter members have earned a Greenhand degree and are active in their local FFA chapter. State members have earned a Chapter degree and have been selected to represent their chapter at the state level.

There are four FFA degrees: Greenhand, Chapter, State, and American. The Greenhand degree is the first degree that FFA members can earn. The Chapter degree is earned after completing two years of agricultural education and participating in FFA activities. The State degree is earned after completing three years of agricultural education and participating in FFA activities at the state level. The American degree is the highest degree that FFA members can earn. It is awarded to members who have made outstanding contributions to FFA and agriculture.
