What is WUGA

The primary goal of WUGA is to provide support for developing sustainable projects within the student body while providing access to relevant resources such as environmental education opportunities, grant support for new initiatives, and networking connections with other universities. Above all else, WUGAs' mission is to create an atmosphere of innovation and creativity that will help drive environmentally friendly action within our community. To this end, they provide one-on-one mentoring sessions about sustainability initiatives or projects, host events such as workshops or conferences designed to share green ideas with the general public or local businesses and organizations;and provide participating students/groups with funding opportunities from both on and off campus sources.

Role of WUGA

The role of Washington University Green Ambassadors is to act as guides through the complex web of environmentalism while providing direct support through mentorship programs and leadership development activities. In addition to these duties, WUGAs also work closely with campus facilities management personnel in order to increase operational efficiencies across all departments at the university level by designating green champions amongst various faculty members and administrative staffs who are then tasked with assisting in the implementation of more efficient operational procedures related to energy conservation efforts or recycling initiatives throughout buildings under their jurisdiction. Furthermore, WUGAs use their platform as an opportunity to spread awareness about pertinent environmental issues taking place both locally as well as regionally in order to better inform students on how they can be actively engaged in making a difference by taking small steps towards creating a more eco-friendly atmosphere across campuses nation wide-
