What Exactly is AMICC?

The Army Mission Installation Contracting Command (AMICC) is a unit within the U.S. Department of Defense responsible for all procurement activities on the installations it manages; for example, contracting out services for base operations support, utilities management or construction projects related to military missions. It was created by Congress in 2009 to improve efficiency and reduce costs associated with installation contracting by streamlining authority over all installation contracts at local levels. The AMICC consists of five regional commands responsible for providing mission support services across all 43 Army installations located around the world; these include four within the continental United States and one in Korea.

How Does AMICC Work?

The AMICC works closely with other procurement offices throughout the DoD to ensure that any contracts awarded provide quality services at a reasonable cost while still meeting military requirements. All civilian personnel working with or under an activity supervised by an installation commander must abide by instructions from an authorized representative of the respective regional headquarters (RHQ). The Regional Commands are responsible for consolidation of requirements between several activities managed by an installation commander, ensuring uniform pricing agreements are maintained between various activities that would normally be competitively bid separately, and authorizing/approving price adjustments as needed based on fair market pricing determinations made by RHQs.

Essential Questions and Answers on Army Mission Installation Contracting Command in "GOVERNMENTAL»MILITARY"

AMICC play an important role in keeping installational contracts cost effective while making sure they meet military requirements as well as provide quality service at a reasonable price point. By streamlining authority over all installation contracts into one centralized entity, deploying resources more efficiently and reducing overhead costs associated with contractual matters has enabled the U.S DoD to save money otherwise wasted on inefficient processes or redundant dealing with contract issues among multiple entities which could lead to costly errors both financially as well as operationally speaking since contractual elements may be overlooked or mismanaged due to lack of coordination or oversight from higher authorities such as RHQs specialized solely in this task who are providing guidance on how each activity's funds should be allocated accordingly based on particular needs & regulations within certain timeframe etc..
