What does AMI mean in HEALTHCARE

The Amazon Malaria Initiative (AMI) is a public-private partnership launched in 2000 to combat malaria in the Amazon region of South America. AMI's mission is to reduce malaria transmission and its impact on the health and well-being of the people living in the Amazon.

AMI is a collaboration between the governments of Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela, as well as non-governmental organizations, private sector companies, and international organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

AMI's strategies focus on:
