What does ZCG mean in VETERINARY

Zoonosis Control Group (ZCG) is an organization dedicated to mitigating the global threat of zoonotic diseases. We are focused on reducing the spread of disease, protecting animal welfare and creating a safe global environment. Our work includes research, education, vaccine development, and treatment initiatives.

ZCG works in many different ways to reduce the spread of zoonotic diseases. We conduct research to better understand how these diseases are transmitted and identify vulnerable populations that are at risk for infection. Additionally, we develop vaccines or otherwise improve treatments for existing infections so that people can be protected from further harm. We also create educational materials aimed at informing communities on how best to protect themselves against these illnesses.

The most concerning zoonoses include viral hemorrhagic fevers like Ebola and Marburg; bacterial illnesses such as Salmonellosis; fungal illnesses like Valley Fever; parasitic infections including Chagas Disease; and neglected tropical diseases such as Toxocariasis.

Yes! We collaborate with many other organizations which support our work, including governmental public health agencies, academic institutions, non-profit organizations and businesses within relevant sectors. By joining forces with these allies, we can make a broader impact on the prevention and control of zoonotic diseases.

As an organization devoted to reducing animal suffering due to zoonotic disease transmission and protecting animal welfare, we recognize the importance of responsible management practices in order to minimize potential risks posed by animal-borne disease agents or vectors. To this end, we advocate for improved biosecurity measures - including vaccination programs - proper surveillance systems, livestock production regulations and various other effective management strategies which will reduce the environmental contamination caused by infectious agents while helping safeguard animal populations from disease outbreaks worldwide.

ZCG operates globally with a focus on select countries across Africa and Southeast Asia where endemic beeingdiseases occur particularly often or have a greater impact on public health than elsewhere in the world. In addition to our headquarters in London, UK, we have offices located in Nairobi (Kenya), Kampala (Uganda) Hanoi (Vietnam), New Delhi (India)and Manila (Philippines).
