About YIPO

Based in Tel Aviv, YIPO is comprised of around 200 talented young musicians between the ages of 12-25 who come together once a week to practice and perform their repertoire under the guidance of world-class conductors. As members of this unique orchestra they are offered professional training and guidance throughout their career with YIPO. Students receive individualized instruction on instruments such as oboe, clarinet, bassoon, flute, trumpet, French horn and trombone amongst others as well as group sessions covering topics such as composition and theatrical interpretation. YIPO's commitment not only to excellence but also to providing a platform to nurture artistic development makes it one of the leading institutions in Israel for young musicians to create real impactful change through their art form.

Achievements

Since its inception YIPO has achieved incredible success both domestically and abroad. An example being that they were awarded 1st place at The European Union Chamber Music Competition in 1998; making them one of the only two youth orchestras in history to win first place.
