What does YEF mean in FOUNDATIONS

The Young Educators Foundation (YEF) is a non-profit organization that empowers and engages youth to create meaningful change in their communities by helping them develop skills, knowledge, and networks. YEF provides educational support and resources for underserved youth through summer learning programs, mentoring opportunities, and more.

YEF offers a wide range of services including access to quality education, leadership training, career exploration, public speaking workshops, internships, college prep advising, professional networking opportunities and more.

All young people between the ages of 8-24 can benefit from the initiatives created by YEF. Whether you’re looking for access to resources or assistance with college planning, we can provide guidance for all stages of education and career development.

Through our initiatives such as our summer learning programs, public speaking workshops and mentoring opportunities we strive to bridge the gap between underserved communities and resources they need for educational success. We ensure every program participant has the tools and support they need to reach their goals.

Our events provide participants with access to high-quality resources that help foster personal growth; this includes networking opportunities with successful professionals in various industries, hands-on learning experiences from experts in various fields as well as college prep advice sessions lead by college admission officers.

To join any one of our programs please fill out an application on our website under the “Programs” tab on www.yefoundation.org. Once your application is received our staff will contact you if you meet the qualifications for the program[s].

No! The goal of many of our programs is to prepare participants for jobs or college admissions but due to limited space many applications may not be accepted into any given program[s]. We will work with each individual participant to ensure their success no matter what path they choose after completing one of our programs.

Yes! There are numerous volunteer positions available at both local chapters around the nation as well as at our headquarters located in New York City. Volunteers are instrumental in continuing to grow and sustain all aspects of our organization from day-to-day operations to special events.
