What Is WPR?

WPR is a teaching strategy used by teachers that helps in the development of the student's reading abilities. The review consists of four components; learning about the phonemes in words through worksheets, quizzing on the words' meanings, activities such as fill-in-the-blank stories/sentences featuring specific phonemes, and finally dictation or copy work. Through repetitive practice of recognizing letters and their sounds, learning syllables and other word parts, as well as meaningful practice of writing and reading sentences or passages with specific lettlers or sound focus, students become more confident readers with better comprehension skills.
