What does WHL mean in HOCKEY

The Wheeler Hockey League (WHL) is an amateur ice hockey league based in North America. The WHL was founded in 2004 and is comprised of 5 teams across Canada and the United States. Each team competes for the coveted 'Wheeler Cup', with the winner taking home the title of 'League Champion'.

Any amateur ice hockey player over 18 years old who meets all eligibility requirements set by the league can join the WHL. Players must register with a current WHL team or an affiliated affiliate organization to compete.

The WHL provides players with a unique opportunity to take part in a highly competitive and professionalized hockey environment. Certain teams may also have game day admission fees for spectators watching any given match.

Our teams encompass athletes from 18 years of age up to 30 years old; however it should be noted that certain divisions have stricter age restrictions due to their more competitive nature (e.g., Junior A Division players must be at least 17 yrs old).

Each team plays roughly 40 regular-season matches throughout any given year; however this number may vary depending on how far each respective squad makes it during post-season playoffs. Additionally, there may be scrimmages or exhibition contests added into a team’s regular schedule at their discretion throughout any given season as well..

All players must bring their own protective equipment specified by WHL rules which includes skates, shoulder pads, knee guards, elbow pads, etc., but most programs offer full or partial equipment rental subsidies as part of their overall fees upon registering for participation..

Most teams provide shared transportation services from designated pickup points within their respective cities/towns/counties in order to travel to away games; however this service may come at an additional cost which varies per squad.
