What does WGMA mean in TRANSPORTATION

The West Gulf Maritime Association's goal is to promote and support safe and efficient maritime activities throughout the United States. It strives to ensure that all of its members are educated on issues related to ships, cargos, ports, environment and security.

The West Gulf Maritime Association (WGMA) was formed in 1959 as a non-profit organization to represent the needs of shipping companies in the United States. Since then, it has grown into an important trade association which works with government agencies and other organizations to ensure safe and efficient marine operations.

The West Gulf Maritime Association provides several services for its members. These include legal advice on maritime matters; educational opportunities such as seminars, conferences and training programs; networking opportunities with industry leaders; lobbying efforts on behalf of member interests; representation at international meetings; research services related to maritime topics; and advocacy for safe ship operations.

Membership in the West Gulf Maritime Association is open to any organization or individual interested in promoting safe marine operations in the United States.
