What does WERC mean in EDUCATIONAL

The Warehousing Education and Research Council (WERC) is an independent, member-supported, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to advance the warehousing and distribution industry through professional development, research, knowledge sharing, networking, benchmarking, leadership development and advocacy.

WERC helps the industry by providing access to training and education programs that help improve job performance as well as develop new skills. Additionally WERC sponsors research initiatives to examine emerging issues impacting organizations in the supply chain space. The goal of these activities is to provide current data that help inform decision making.

WERC has several key programs including its Certified Professional Warehouse Manager (CPWM) program which provides comprehensive certification for warehouse professionals; the Solutions Center which provides data analysis services; and its Annual Logistics Conference which brings together subject matter experts from all facets of logistics.

Individuals may become a member of WERC at three different levels—Basic Membership at $185 a year, Premium Membership at $285 a year or Premium Plus Membership at $485 a year—each offering different benefits based on level of commitment. Organizations may also join at any one of those levels, with additional discounts available for larger numbers of memberships within a group or company.
