What does WBOE mean in EDUCATIONAL

The Wallington Board of Education provides academic initiatives, programs and resources for students to achieve their educational goals. This includes providing quality teachers and staff, development and implementation of curriculum, provision of extracurricular activities, developing student leadership opportunities, and more.

Parents and community members actively participate in the instruction and operations of our schools. There are several ways to get involved with the Wallington Board of Education such as attending meetings, volunteering time in school-based organizations or committees, serving on school or district task forces or advisory councils, becoming a mentor for a student, assisting with fundraising events or helping out at special events.

The Wallington Board of Education offers a variety of programs designed to meet the needs of all students. These include specialized instruction for gifted students, individualized support plans for special education students, various after-school programs for all age groups, classes that help English language learners succeed academically, health education courses to promote well-being among students, college preparatory classes and more.

In order to enroll in one of our schools study under our board's jurisdiction you must be a resident within the school district’s boundaries. Additionally you must provide proof that your child has been vaccinated against preventable diseases such as measles mumps rubella chickenpox hepatitis B diphtheria whooping cough tetanus polio and meningococcal disease. Additional documents may be requested from parents before enrollment is finalized which include birth certificate social security cards immunization records legal custody documentation residency verification and school records if applicable.

Every year we organize multiple summer camps designed to keep students engaged during vacation season while also providing an opportunity to explore new interests develop competencies further enhance knowledge have fun and build meaningful relationships with peers mentors coaches volunteers etc.. Our summer camps range from academics core subjects like math science technology engineering arts mathematics physical fitness sports wellness financial literacy etc.
