Meaning of VABO

VABO is short form of Vadodara which is a large cosmopolitan city located on the banks of river Vishwamitri in Gujarat. It is known to be one of the most culturally and economically developed cities in India with an estimated population of over two million people. The city has grown over centuries from being an important trade center to now being at the forefront of India's pharmaceutical industry since 2002 when there was much emphasis placed on science and technology within the state's economy.

History

Vadodara dates back to at least 300 BC when it served as a trading post between India and Persia. In AD 1294, the Solanki Rajput kings conquered this region and established their rule until 1573 when Mughal Emperor Akbar took control. Later on Vadodara became part of Maratha Empire under Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj before finally becoming part of British Raj in 1802-1803 during Second Anglo Maratha War. The Gaekwad dynasty then took control in 1875 which lasted until 1949 when Independent India gave Vadodara a special status as part of Bombay State along with Surat, Ahmedabad, Kutchh Island among few others regions.

Present day

Vadodara is now known worldwide as the “Cultural Capital” because it houses numerous museums such as Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum as well as various cultural centres like National Bal Bhavan which promote cultural heritage and art forms like dance, music etc successfully across different generations. Additionally it has become a major industrial centre due to its strategic location on national highways connecting Mumbai - New Delhi – Ahmadabad - Rajkot circuit making it possible to reach port cities like Surat & Kandla quickly which further adds to its importance in terms commerce & trade . Pharmaceuticals factories such as Zydus Cadila have their base here which employ thousands from local population giving them employment opportunities while improving living conditions within reasonable limits.
