Who is eligible for URSI?
URSI is open to all undergraduate students outside of their graduating year. Applicants must have maintained a minimum overall GPA of 2.5 in order to be considered for program acceptance.
What does the program involve?
The program requires students to make a commitment of 40 hours/week for 8 weeks over the summer months, with an additional two weeks dedicated to developing intellectual property agreements and filing patent applications. During this time, students will work with faculty mentors on research projects they identify at the start of their URSI experience. Students will also be enrolled in five credit-hours worth of directed study courses that include laboratory technique and methods workshops, ethics seminars and professional development talks from industry experts.
