History of TTST

The Texas Terrapins Swim Team (TTST) was founded in 2002 by head coach Melissa Carlino. Carlino had been coaching swimming since 1998 and wanted to bring her passion for the sport to the Lone Star State. Over the years, TTST has grown from a small local swim team to one of the best competitive teams in Texas. Today, the team is made up of hundreds of youth swimmers ranging from novice level swimmers all the way up to national-level competitors. In addition to providing quality instruction and guidance, TTST also puts an emphasis on developing strong character traits including integrity, sportsmanship, self-discipline and respect.

Programs Offered at TTST

At TTST, there are programs available for swimmers at every level. For those just starting out or looking for recreational swim opportunities, there are learn-to-swim clinics as well as summer camps that provide fun activities that will teach basic aquatic skills while also fostering an appreciation of teamwork among participants. For more advanced swimmers interested in competing for TTST or other regional teams, there are practice groups and swim meets organized throughout the year so that swimmers can test their skills against other teams in friendly but competitive settings. Swimmers who have set high goals such as competing nationally can also work with the coaching staff towards attaining their dreams through rigorous training regimes and following precise nutritional plans developed by experts within the organization.
