Yes! Even though most of the trails here are within controlled areas that are regularly patrolled for avalanche hazards, it's always best practice to be equipped with the proper avalanche safety gear when venturing out into uncontrolled backcountry terrain. This includes carry transceivers (beacons), probes and shovels at minimum - we recommend getting educated on safe backcountry practices before heading out too!

Yes! Beginners will find plenty of easy access slopes here at Taos Ski Valley. Our bunny slope lift is specifically designed for newer skiers who want to take their time learning the basics of turning before they get onto steeper runs. We also have several green runs served by chairlifts so you can progress your skills quickly right off the bat!

Yes! We offer our Snow Cubs program which allows parents to drop off their children aged 3 – 6 years old in a professionally supervised environment where they will learn about basic skiing techniques while having fun playing games with their peers. For older children 7 – 12 years old we have our Kinderkarts program focusing on teaching them how to confidently traverse the slopes.

Of course! Tickets may be purchased online using our website or mobile app up until 2 pm MST on the day you wish to use it – no booking fees or added charges either! Buying ahead saves time queuing up when you arrive at resort ensuring maximum days shredding on the hill.
