Bible

The first part of BDM stands for “Bible”, signifying scripture as the foundation of faith. This part of the acronym encourages individuals to prioritize reading and studying scripture as they cultivate their personal relationship with God. Through prayerful study of scripture, readers gain deep insight into God’s character, His plans for humanity, and overall desires for our lives. By forming a deeper understanding of God’s Word, we are better able to dedicate ourselves to living out His will in our day-to-day lives.

Discipleship

The second part of BDM stands for “Discipleship”, emphasizing the importance of instruction from mentors who excel in spiritual matters as well as accountability among fellow believers in following after Christ’s example. Discipleship involves relationships with other believers built upon mutual respect and trust that help us grow in our faith journey with Jesus Christ while encouraging others in theirs. The aim is to uphold biblical standards amongst brothers and sisters in Christ while equipping each other with tools necessary for maturing spiritually under wise counseling from knowledgeable believers — all while remaining faithful to what scripture says about being true disciples of Christ.

Mission

Finally, the third part of BDM stands for “Mission” — referring not only to an individual's pursuit of spiritual growth but our collective obligation to share the good news about Jesus Christ with others who may not have heard it or encountered it yet. We are called upon by Jesus himself to make disciples throughout all nations (Matthew 28:19-20). This means carrying out acts such as preaching at local churches or going on mission trips around the world — all grounded on sharing one's story about encountering Christ so others hear receive His message too! We must remember that we have been saved by grace alone so that we can spread this same grace throughout all people groups (John 3:16).
