What does TPCF mean in NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

Twin Pines Cooperative Foundation is a non-profit organization devoted to creating equitable economic opportunities and access to sustainable, renewable energy sources for rural communities. Our mission is to encourage the development of cooperative businesses that will positively impact the quality of life in these communities, create jobs, strengthen small businesses, and promote environmental stewardship.

Grants are available for cooperative projects that support our core mission. Grant applications must clearly demonstrate how the proposed project will create equitable economic opportunities and access to sustainable, renewable energy sources. Yes! Through our Technical Assistance Program (TAP), we provide comprehensive technical assistance and training services to cooperatives and organizations interested in developing cooperative solutions. TAP also offers capacity building grants in order to foster collaboration and cooperation among stakeholders in the community in pursuit of social, economic, and environmental sustainability goals. We focus on initiatives that promote community-based ownership of renewable energy resources as well as job creation within rural communities through cooperative projects such as solar panel installation and battery storage technology experimentation; food systems projects like worker cooperatives or agricultural cooperatives; housing initiatives focused on creating supportive housing options in rural areas; as well as other efforts that result in increased access to affordable credit for farmers or entrepreneurs.

Yes! We are open throughout the year for proposals from any individual or organization wishing to pursue their own project ideas with support from Twin Pines Cooperative Foundation's funding program. When reviewing grant applications, we look at several factors including an applicant’s experience with similar initiatives, how feasible and realistic their proposed plans are, if the project meets our organizational goals, if it has clear objectives which can be quantified and monitored easily over time; whether it has strong partnerships with local groups or organizations; its potential positive outcomes for communities where it operates; its economic sustainability plan; its potential scalability; and its potential replicability across other regions with similar needs.

No! We recognize that other community matters often intersect with sustainable energy access—such as financial literacy education, affordable housing access, transportation alternatives—and therefore welcome proposals related to those issues too so long as they tie into our core goals of promoting small business growth within rural communities.

The amount of time required varies depending on complexity of each proposal but typically takes up three weeks from start date until decision time.

Any individual or organization is eligible regardless of country of origin or citizenship status so long as they meet all requirements stated in our application guidelines found at twinpinesfoundation.org/grants.
