What does TOA mean in ORTHOPAEDIC

The Texas Orthopaedic Association (TOA) is a non-profit organization of orthopaedic professionals dedicated to providing excellence in patient care and promoting education, research, and advocacy. Founded in 1900, TOA works to empower its members on both the local and state levels through legislative initiatives, educational opportunities, mentorship programs, and other initiatives.

Any licensed health professional who deals with orthopedics is eligible to join the TOA. This includes but is not limited to orthopedic surgeons, physician assistants, rehabilitation therapists, nurses, and physical therapists. Membership is also available to students currently studying any related medical field.

TOA provides various educational opportunities that help members stay abreast of advancements in their respective fields. Through workshops, conferences, webinars, online courses, mentorship programs and other services offered at both our annual meetings and throughout the year TOA helps keep their members up-to-date with current knowledge and trends in orthopedics.

Yes! As part of our commitment to public safety and quality care for all Texans with musculoskeletal disorders we actively monitor developments in state legislation that affects us directly as well as indirectly on behalf of our members. TFAC also advocates for appropriate resources needed for our members’ practices so they can continue providing superior care for patients suffering from these conditions.
