What does BCSF mean in FOUNDATIONS

The Buncombe County Schools Foundation, or BCSF, is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving educational opportunities for students in Buncombe County. Our mission is to help schools and families collaborate to maximize academic potential for all students.

There are a variety of ways you can support BCSF and its mission. You can make a tax-deductible donation on our website, volunteer at one of our programs, sponsor an event, or join our email list so that you can stay informed about upcoming initiatives and events!

BCSF offers a range of programming, designed to enhance the educational experience for K-12 students in Buncombe County. Some examples of our programming include teacher grants for innovative classroom projects, textbook scholarships, school supply drives, family literacy nights, college prep workshops for high school students and more.

To qualify for any scholarship offered by the Foundation candidates must be graduating seniors from any public high school in Buncombe County who demonstrate financial need. In addition, some scholarship funds may have specific criteria such as GPA or participation in extracurricular activities.
