What does TBR mean in UNIVERSITIES

TBR stands for Tennessee Board of Regents.

The Tennessee Board of Regents manages the state's public colleges and universities by providing access to quality higher education throughout Tennessee, as well as advancing research and development in the fields of science, technology, and business.

The current Board includes nine members appointed by the Governor that include six citizen members from different regions in the state, one faculty member from a state institution of higher learning to be appointed from among a list submitted by the presidents of such institutions, one student member appointed from among a list submitted by presidents representing each type of institution within TBR, and an ex officio chancellor elected by the board.

Tuition fees vary depending on which university or college you attend under TBR but there may be additional fees including student activity fees; technology services fees; building use/infrastructure maintenance fees; distance learning/course delivery fees; library reserve service fees; transcript processing fees; or material supply cost items associated with certain courses.
