What does TASTE mean in UNCLASSIFIED

TASTE is a joint research project between scientists and philosophers to explore the experiences of certain individuals who have gone through extraordinary episodes of "transcendence" caused by various natural or induced physical, mental, and spiritual phenomena. It seeks to identify, document, and study these unique experiences from an interdisciplinary perspective.

A transcendental experience is described as a heightened sense of spiritual awareness or insight that can occur during meditation, prayer or in response to various natural or induced physical, mental, or spiritual stimuli. Such experiences are often reported to be deeply meaningful and emotionally transformative.

Scientists as well as philosophers with backgrounds in various fields such as psychology, medicine, anthropology, theology and parapsychology participate in the research project. They bring their combined expertise to investigate the nature of such extraordinary moments with open minds and rigorous scientific methodologies.

The research involves interviewing people who have experienced transcendental events and collecting data through questionnaires on their subjective states before and after the event occurred. Participating in TASTE does not pose any significant risks beyond those associated with filling out the anonymous questionnaire about one's own experiences or sharing one's personal story with researchers. Nonetheless we take all safety precautions seriously throughout our data collection process and will provide emotional support when needed in order to ensure a positive experience for all participants involved.

All statements made by participants during interviews will be kept confidential unless they provide explicit written permission for its use otherwise; otherwise no other legal documentation is required because participation does not involve any risks that threaten one’s health or safety beyond disclosures mentioned prior (as stated above). All results obtained from questionnaires will be aggregated into anonymous group data so no personal identification can be made from individual responses.

Because we are researching adults' experiences of transcendence it stands to reason that participants should have reached adulthood before taking part in our study; however age requirements can vary depending on the objectives of each particular phase of research. Participants under 18 years old must receive parental consent before taking part if deemed necessary by researchers conducting the study at hand.

We welcome applications from anyone who believes they may qualify for our studies based on having experienced a phenomenal episode that was somehow considered “transcendent” either naturally or induced by external means such as psychedelic drugs etc., even if they cannot explain it scientifically nor prove it objectively through laboratory tests etc., provided that they are mentally mature enough to provide coherent insights about their own inner state during such events intelligibly enough so that empirical evaluation becomes possible (for example via structured interviews conducted by researchers).
