The Southern University Police Department (SUPD) is an accredited law enforcement agency responsible for upholding public safety at three campuses within the Southern University System: Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Southern University at New Orleans; and the Agricultural and Mechanical College in Scott’s Bluff, Louisiana. The mission of SUPD is to protect life and property through a combination of community policing, preventative measures, law enforcement services, emergency response, and other support activities. The department employs over 110 sworn officers, 24 civilian personnel members and 10 police cadets.
