The Safer Sex Initiative (SSI) is an educational program designed to promote safe sexual practices among individuals and reduce the risk of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections. Resources include promotion of condom use, testing resources, access to PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) services, information about STIs, communication skills training, negotiation skills for consensual relationships, strategy for reducing risky behaviors, harm reduction techniques such as needle exchanges and clean-needle kits, support for overcoming substance use challenges associated with sex work, better understanding of cultural norms around sexuality, and referrals to mental health professionals.
