What does SSDC mean in DRUGS

SSDC works by providing advice on drug-related issues, developing cooperative initiatives for policy makers, analyzing drug markets and epidemiology trends, promoting joint research efforts, advocating for evidence-based policies in various countries around the world, and providing technical assistance on legislative reforms.

The core principles of SSDC are non-discrimination; respect for fundamental human rights such as due process; clear distinction between licit/illicit drugs; strengthening control on chemicals used in illicit drugs; developing national action plans corresponding to global commitments; expanding access to treatment options for those suffering from substance abuse disorders; and encouraging multinational cooperation in pursuing a balanced approach towards countering illegal activities related to drugs.

SSDC is supported by voluntary contributions from its member states. Member states can also solicit additional private funding sources. In addition, the organization receives support from a variety of organizations including UNICEF, World Health Organization (WHO), Interpol and other entities committed to fighting the world-wide drug epidemic.

Membership in SSDC is open to all countries which have committed themselves to combating drug abuse through national legislation or other instruments at any level – including subnational/regional levels. To join any country needs only notify the Secretary General or Chairperson of their intention to participate in meetings or activities of the organization.

By joining SSDC members benefit from policy sharing initiatives developed within the consortium as well as technical assistance on implementing national strategies or actions against illegal activities related to drugs such as production, sale and distribution. Member countries also receive access to information related to latest scientific developments concerning drugs that lead to more informed decision making when creating laws related drugs use and abuse prevention. Furthermore members will be kept informed about multi-lateral initiatives aiming at combatting illicit substances.

Yes! Membership in Sovereign States Drug Consortium (SSDC) is free with no financial obligations. However by being part of this organization each state must show their commitment through regular attendances at meetings or other activities sponsored by it.

The chairperson elected by consensus has authority over running day-to day operations within SSDC while ultimate responsibility lies with a fully functioning executive board which includes representatives nominated by member states which oversees matters related legislative enforcement among others.
