What does SRAP mean in RESEARCH

SRAP stands for the Summer Research Apprentice Program.

Eligibility requirements vary depending on the organization that is offering the program. Generally speaking, any student who is enrolled in college or university can be eligible if they have not yet graduated and are majoring in a field relevant to the organizations researching pursuits.

The length of a research apprentice program can range anywhere from one month to nine months depending on what the organization deems necessary to adequately train their apprentices.

During a SRAP program, students will often engage in activities such as laboratory experiments, field trips, group brainstorming sessions, document writing, and more as determined by their mentor or instructor. These activities may also differ from organization to organization depending on what kind of research they are doing.

For many organizations, completion of a SRAP program may result in job offers at higher positions than entry level or internships due to its rigorous training requirements. Additionally, students may benefit from having access to different resources such as specialized publications and conferences which can strengthen their resume and make them more desirable candidates for future employment opportunities.
