What does SPSO mean in STUDENTS

The purpose of SPSO is to help create a community for school psychology students and professionals to connect and collaborate on research, studies, and advancements in the field. We strive to promote diversity and acceptance of all backgrounds within the institution. Through our leadership initiatives, we bring together students from across the country to work together towards achieving a common goal.

To join SPSO, you must be currently enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university with a school psychology department. Once you have been accepted into the program, you can register online by creating an account and entering your details. You will then be given access to all resources offered through the organization including our discussion boards, events calendar, webinar series, and more.

As a member of SPSO students will have access to many professional development opportunities such as conferences and workshops hosted by our organization. Additionally, members have exclusive access to our private discussion board where professors and professionals post job listings for internships, research positions, and other job openings relevant to school psychology students. Lastly, we offer discounts on school supplies and textbooks bought through our affiliated vendors.

All membership fees associated with joining SPSO are voluntary donations made by members who wish to support its mission and activities year-round. However if unable to donate at this time there is still no fee associated with registering for membership in the organization.

Yes! We always welcome volunteers willing to lend their time or expertise in furthering our mission or activities throughout the academic year. We offer various volunteer positions that range from helping out with our annual conferences or webinars to mentoring prospective students interested in pursuing school psychology as their career path. All volunteers receive recognition certificates upon completion of their tasks which can be used for future resumes or CVs when applying for jobs or programs within this field.

Yes! We host several conferences throughout each academic year open for anyone interested in gaining more knowledge about trends within the field of school psychology such as evidence-based practices or innovative strategies being employed by district administrators etc.. In addition we also host smaller workshops related more specifically on topics such as creating Individual Education Plans (IEPs) both onsite here at our headquarters or virtually via online webinar platforms.
