What does SOAR mean in RESEARCH

SOAR is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and advocating for the advancement of high quality art, research, creative work, and educational opportunities in the Southern Oregon region. We strive to create an inclusive, safe, and vibrant arts and research community.

By becoming a member of SOAR you join a vibrant group of like-minded individuals who are passionate about art, research, creativity, and learning. As a member you’ll have access to exclusive events such as workshops, lectures, and discussion groups with leading researchers and artists in the area. You’ll also be eligible for discounts on select projects and services.

SOAR supports a variety of creative projects including but not limited to visual art exhibitions; theater productions; literary publications; public presentations; technical research; community building initiatives; open mic nights; artist salons; film screenings; workshops and seminars.

We encourage applications from all types of artists interested in displaying their work at our sponsored events. To apply for consideration please provide three images of your work along with contact information and any other relevant information via our website or email us at [email protected].

In order to be considered for funding through one of our grants you must first submit a proposal outlining your research goals as well as expected outcomes if successful. Proposals can either be submitted via e-mail or standard mail postmarked at least 2 weeks prior to the grant deadline listed on our website www.soarartsandresearch.org/grants/.

No, while we prioritize projects that are based locally within the Southern Oregon region we also provide funds to organizations outside this area whose work aligns with our mission objectives. Applicants should consider how their project will benefit people living within Southern Oregon when submitting proposals for review.

Volunteers play an essential role in helping us fulfill our mission which is why we offer short-term assignments such as helping with event set up/tear down or staffing informational tables during festivals/events throughout the year. The majority of activities hosted by SOAR is open age allowing both children and adults alike although we may reserve certain events for adults only such as 18+ poetry readings etc... All age requirements will be noted clearly when applicable on our website www.soarartsandresearchcouters./
