What does SOAP mean in SOCIETIES

SOAP is a professional society comprised of healthcare professionals in the field of obstetric anesthesia and perinatology from around the world. Established in 2007, SOAP provides its members with educational resources such as conferences, webinars, and publications to advance their knowledge and skills in the field.

SOAP offers three different types of membership - Active Members, Associate Members and Student Members. Active Members are physicians who specialize in obstetric anesthesiology or clinical practice related to the specialty; Associate Members are non-physician healthcare professionals affiliated with obstetric anesthesiology or clinical practice related to the specialty; Student Members are medical students who have an expressed interest in obstetric anesthesiology or clinical practice related to the specialty.

Yes, there is a one-time Membership Activation Fee and annual dues that must be paid for all three types of membership. The Membership Activation Fee covers administrative costs associated with processing incoming members and is $100 for Active Members and Associate Members, while it’s free for Student Members. There is also an annual subscription fee; Active members pay $225 per year in subscription fees while Associate and Student members pay $50 per year.

Yes! As part of its mission to promote education and research within its field, SOAP provides a variety of educational resources ranging from conferences organized by experts in the field to live webinars on new concepts and techniques available online. Additionally, members receive access to publications on trending topics within obstetrical anesthesia as well as exclusive discounts when registering for events hosted by other organizations.
