What does BBA mean in NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

The mission of BBBSAA is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. For more than 100 years, these transformational relationships have inspired millions of kids to believe in themselves, reach their highest potential, and become productive citizens in our ever-changing world.

Yes! In addition to serving youth, BBA also provides mentorships and support for adults who are looking for guidance navigating personal or professional challenges. Programs include job search assistance, resource referral networks, financial literacy education, basic life skills instruction, college or career coaching and much more.

Yes! All U.S. chapters are a part of Big Brothers Big Sisters America so that each program can benefit from mutual support as well as receive nationwide recognition. This unified network also allows each participating chapter to benefit from shared best practices as well as participate in collaborative initiatives like the annual National Mentoring Month campaign.

No! All volunteers must be at least 18 years old but no special qualifications are required; if you possess enthusiasm, patience, commitment and caring qualities then you could be a great mentor! Each volunteer will undergo an extensive background check prior to officially being matched with a Little Brother or Sister.

There are many ways to get involved with BBA - you can become a mentor or make a donation directly through the website. You can also attend events organized by your local chapter or participate in fundraisers/awareness campaigns held throughout the year. Don't forget — you can even host your own fundraiser either online or offline!
