What does SMPC mean in MILITARY

Strategic Military Partner Conference (SMPC) is an annual event designed to promote collaboration, communication, and partnership between the militaries of different countries. The conference encourages exchange of ideas and best practices, and provides a platform for strengthening strategic partnerships among security forces from different countries. The conference focuses on various aspects of global security including military operations, technology advances in the military domain, cyber-security, intelligence sharing, critical infrastructure protection, maritime security etc.

SMPC is organized by International Institute of Peace & Security (IIPS), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting international peace and stability through dialogue and information sharing among security forces from different countries.

Strategic Military Partners from different countries attend the SMPC. This includes defence ministers/officials, senior military officers, strategists from national security organizations and think tanks as well as representatives from private sector companies specializing in defence-related areas such as cyber-security and intelligence sharing.

Topics vary each year but typically include presentations on modern defense strategies & technologies; collaboration & cooperation between militaries; improving operational efficiency; cybersecurity; intelligence sharing; critical infrastructure protection; maritime security; terrorism warfare etc.

SMPC usually takes place once a year in a different country - past events have been held in the USA, UK, France and Singapore - since 2020 it has been held virtually due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The duration of the conference ranges from two days to a week depending on the various activities planned.

In addition to keynote addresses by world renounced speakers there are panel discussions featuring experts on defense related topics plus workshops focused on subject matter such as intelligence gathering & analysis, counter cyber warfare tactics & strategies etc. A technical exhibition displaying innovative products & services tailored towards enhancing military strength round off the event's activities.

Participants must register prior to attending either online or at one of IIPS’s designated offices before the registration deadline closes for that particular session. For virtual events you would only need an internet connection and valid email address.
