What does SLS mean in BRITISH MEDICINE

The Selected List Scheme (SLS) is a programme introduced by the Singapore Government to help local SMEs better access and benefit from public sector procurement opportunities. Under the scheme, suppliers are pre-selected based on their capabilities and performance track record. This makes it easier for government agencies to enter into contracts with these suppliers for goods and services.

SLS works by having selected suppliers registered in advance with the Government Procurement Department (GPD). These suppliers are assessed against a set of criteria including reputation, products/service offerings, past performance records and financial stability. Those who meet the criteria will be listed as ‘pre-qualified' suppliers. Government agencies can then approach these suppliers directly when they have an immediate need for goods or services.

The SLS was first introduced in 2010 as part of the Public Sector Transformation Programme to increase efficiency in public sector procurement processes. It streamlines the process by replacing traditional tenders with direct sourcing from pre-selected qualified suppliers, providing a wider range of options for government agencies when selecting vendors for their needs.

All local companies registered in Singapore are eligible to apply for the SLS programme provided that they meet certain prerequisites such as good credit rating, adequate insurance coverage and evidence of sufficient capacity and capability. Companies must also submit a detailed business profile which includes profiles of key personnel, nature of business operations, financial statements and other required documents specified by GPD.

To apply as an SLS registered supplier, you must first log on to ePS (Government Electronic Procurement System) at https://www1.ePS.gov.sg/central/. From there you will find further instructions on how to register your company with GPD as well as details of fees payable if applicable. Please note that registration may take up to four weeks depending on complexity of application assessment process so please plan your application accordingly.

Once your company has been approved by GPD, you would automatically become eligible for invitations from any government agency that requires supplies or services similar to what you offer via ePS (Government Electronic Procurement System). However, this does not guarantee that you would receive invitations from these agencies because selection will ultimately depend on their needs and requirements.

Generally speaking no additional fee is required if your application to register is submitted online through ePS (Government Electronic Procurement System). However it may be subject matter related administrative costs incurred during evaluation should there be physical documents requested or additional evaluator visits involving cost incurred.
