What does SGAH mean in ANIMALS

The School for Global Animal Health (SGAH) is a research and educational institution dedicated to advancing understanding of animal health, welfare, food safety, and public health. Our mission is to bring together experts from veterinary medicine, biomedical sciences, epidemiology, public health, nutrition, economics, policymaking and beyond to help solve society’s most pressing animal-related challenges.

SGAH offers a variety of programs designed for students at all levels of study. We have undergraduate degrees in Veterinary Science and Veterinary Epidemiology; Masters and doctoral level programs in Veterinary Public Health; and specialized programs focused on transferring knowledge from university to industry or international organizations.

Our faculty members are world renowned experts in their respective fields. They include veterinarians with diverse backgrounds in veterinary medicine, epidemiology, public health, nutrition science and more. In addition to our top tier faculty members we also have associate researchers working on some of the most important current topics related to animal health.

Yes! Financial support is available to undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need as well as applicants enrolled in certain Masters level courses such as Microbiology & Immunology or Clinical Medicine. Internship placements are offered periodically throughout the year depending on the availability of positions within our partner institutions located both within Australia and abroad under varying conditions.
